Job Description

Thule is looking for a Supply Chain Material Planner. to work on site at our Seymour, CT facility . Candidate will be responsible for materials required for production, including MRP (materials requirements planning) materials, MRO (materials, repair and operations) items. This role ensures that materials are sourced, delivered, and available for production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute MRP functions by creating, confirming, and expediting purchase orders Manage supply levels and maintain real-time visibility of inventory Coordinate transportation and delivery of materials from international and local suppliers according to Purchase Orders and Distribution Orders Work closely with suppliers, brokers, and freight forwarders to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries Collaborate with various departments to ensure materials are available for new product launches and support the transition of work from procurement to operations Run forecast and open purchase order reports and discuss with suppliers to prevent interruptions in supply Work with the finance department to resolve any invoice discrepancies related to material purchases Facilitate communication between suppliers and internal teams to address quality issues and engineering changes, ensuring product specifications and quality standards are met Conduct supplier visits, when necessary, to ensure alignment on production needs, quality standards, and delivery schedules Maintain updated purchase order dates based on the latest supplier confirmations to ensure real-time visibility for production and customer service teams Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain performance and material availability, providing reports to management Assist Director of Operations with additional tasks and projects as required to improve material flow and supply chain process
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management, material planning in manufacturing environment, procurement and inventory control Strong ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make informed decisions based on inventory and material requirements Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers Experience using ERP systems (preferably M3), Excel, and other reporting tools for tracking inventory, order management, and supply chain performance Familiarity with MRP systems and the ability to integrate them with daily planning activities Proactive mindset with a willingness to experiment with new tools, processes, and ideas to improve material planning and supply chain efficiency Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CPIM or CSCP), a plus Thule believes in strong teamwork both within your own team but also across teams.
