What you will do Ship and receive sprinkler-related materials daily (pipes, fittings, sprinkler heads, valves, hangers, seismic bracing, accessories) for projects and for onsite field crews. Receive and process purchase orders; create PO requisitions with accurate sprinkler part numbers and job codes; obtain necessary approvals. Maintain shipping and receiving logs and ACE inventory records; ensure all transfers, issues, and receipts are correctly tied to project numbers for accurate job costing. Support field technicians with parts inquiries and timely fulfillment of daily material requests. Understand and execute procedures for receipts, issues, transfers, and staging of all sprinkler materials; ensure proper bin locations and traceability in ACE. Notify Project Coordinators when materials for a specific sprinkler job have arrived; coordinate staging and delivery to job sites or crews as required. Transfer materials within the ACE inventory system (e.g., to warehouse, job site, or field inventory) and verify accuracy of locations and quantities. Coordinate RMA requests and processing; manage credit returns to suppliers for excess, warranty, or repair materials. Maintain hard-copy paper flows to validate Transfers and ensure physical records align with ACE inventory. Maintain and monitor inventory integrity; investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Conduct monthly and quarterly cycle counts as required; reconcile variances and adjust records. Ensure on-time procurement and delivery of all sprinkler materials and services to support project schedules; monitor lead times and submittals. Operate safely and comply with all safety guidelines; perform physical tasks including lifting/moving equipment and tools up to 70 lbs; use pallet jack and tow motor as needed. Read and interpret basic project drawings, purchase orders, and sprinkler specifications to verify correct materials are ordered and delivered. What we look for Required One to three years of experience in logistics or supply chain, preferably in construction, fire protection/sprinkler trades, or a high-volume transactional environment; customer-facing experience a plus. Ability to perform physical labor including lifting and moving equipment/tools up to 70 lbs; ability to safely operate a pallet jack and tow motor. Proficiency with full MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Access, PowerPoint); ability to perform data entry and reporting. Ability to quickly master customized IT applications (Oracle) and ACE inventory system. Strong, effective communicator with internal and external customers, staff, and management; high level of customer service. Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision; proactive problem-solving and strong organizational skills. Commitment to safety; consistently follow safety guidelines and procedures. Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency; ability to manage multiple priorities. Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements. Able to pass pre-employment background and drug test. Willingness and ability to obtain and retain any required licenses or certifications per National, State, and Local codes. Ability to safely operate a pallet jack and tow motor. Preferred Experience in the sprinkler/fire protection industry; ability to read and interpret sprinkler isometrics, plans, and specifications. Knowledge of NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 13, NFPA 25) or a willingness to learn as part of on-the-job training. Familiarity with procurement of sprinkler materials (pipes, fittings, sprinkler heads, hangers, seismic bracing, valves, backflow preventers) and related accessories. Experience with job costing and aligning materials with project numbers and budgets.
Key performance indicators:
on-time delivery for sprinkler projects, cycle count accuracy, and shrinkage/variance rates.
Work environment note:
occasional travel to job sites or supplier locations as required.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE
$29.00-41.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
