We are seeking a Logistics Management Specialist 2, to support the Logistical Support Services contract. This project will provide logistical support services for the U.S. Capitol Police. The primary place of performance shall be: 499 South Capitol St SW, Washington, D.C. 20003. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week during normal business hours (6:00 to 18:00). So, what will the Logistics Management Specialist 2 at Terrestris do? The Logistics Management Specialist 2 will be a position under the Logistical Support Services contract. This is a senior-level position where the individual will assume a leadership role in overseeing logistics operations to ensure efficiency and compliance within the scope of their contractual responsibilities. This role requires a high level of expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to ensure the seamless flow of equipment, supplies, and materials to support USCP missions. This position is contingent upon contract award. What does a typical day look like for a Logistics Management Specialist 2?
You will:
Coordinate supply deployment during law enforcement operations to sustain mission readiness. Oversee equipment receipt, issue, disposition, and security documentation. Conduct logistics audits to verify compliance with policies and procedures. Investigate and report equipment theft, loss, damage, and security incidents. Maintain accurate procurement, inventory, and logistics records through reconciliation and documentation. Mentor junior logistics personnel and reinforce policy compliance. Provide strategic direction and leadership in managing transportation, inventory, and mission support operations. Drive large class C vehicles in support of the USCP Mission. Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Lead a team of logistics professionals and provide guidance on best practices and industry standards. Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of goods and services. Conduct in-depth analysis of logistics data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings. Lead procurement activities, including contract negotiations, vendor selection, and contract management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand, plan for contingencies, and address logistical challenges. Prepare and present high-level reports and presentations on logistics performance, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership. What qualifications do you look for? You might be the professional we're looking for if you have: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in logistics management or related field. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team. Advanced analytical skills and the ability to make strategic decisions based on data. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in logistics software, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, and data analysis tools. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check & drug test. Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship. Ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift over 50lbs. Valid Drivers License with good driving history. Ability to learn to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack through USCP provided training required; ability to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack (preferred). We will be extra impressed if you have: Certification in logistics or supply chain management. Experience working in a federal government or law enforcement agency.
