We are seeking a Mission Support Specialist to support the Logistical Support Services contract. This project will provide logistical support services for the U.S. Capitol Police. The primary place of performance shall be: 499 South Capitol St SW, Washington, D.C. 20003. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week during normal business hours (6:00 to 18:00). So, what will the Mission Support Specialist at Terrestris do? The Mission Support Specialist will be a position under the Logistical Support Services contract, playing a vital role in supporting the logistics & mission support operations of the United States Capitol Police. This entry-level position is open to individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment. This position is contingent upon contract award. What does a typical day look like for a Mission Support Specialist?
You will:
Assist with fundamental logistics functions which include: supporting the coordination of transportation for equipment, supplies, and materials, ensuring that basic logistical needs are met efficiently. Manage inventory and replenish supplies as directed, maintaining accurate records and supporting logistics audits by providing necessary documentation. Assist in preparing procurement requests, requisitions, vouchers, and other paperwork, ensuring that all documentation is complete and accurate. Track the receipt, issue, return, transfer, and disposition of equipment, maintaining security oversight of equipment and storage areas. Assist in gathering quotes from vendors for market research and procurement support, following established policies and procedures. Report any theft, damage, or security incidents observed immediately to the supervisor. Assist in coordinating the transportation of equipment, supplies, and materials to various agency locations. Drive large class C vehicles in support of the USCP Mission. Support inventory management activities and ensure timely replenishment of supplies. Follow logistics policies and procedures under the guidance of senior staff. Collaborate with vendors and contractors to facilitate the delivery of goods and services. Participate in logistics audits to ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations. Provide administrative support in the procurement process, such as preparing purchase orders or conducting market research. Assist in forecasting demand and planning for future logistical needs. Prepare basic reports on logistics activities and contribute to process improvement efforts. What qualifications do you look for? You might be the professional we're looking for if you have: High school diploma or equivalent Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship. Able to lift and carry items weighing 50lbs. Ability to stand and walk for long periods. Valid driver license with good driving history. Ability to learn to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack through USCP provided training required; ability to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack (preferred). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively on a team. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to pass USCP background investigation and drug test is required. What kind of benefits does Terrestris Offer?
