Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our team and drive excellence in supply chain operations. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end management of logistics processes, including transportation, warehouse distribution, procurement, and inventory control. Your expertise will ensure seamless coordination across departments, optimize supply chain efficiency, and support our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to process improvements, leverage data analysis skills, and develop innovative solutions within a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage transportation planning and execution using transportation management systems (TMS) to ensure timely delivery of goods. Oversee warehouse operations including inventory management, stock control, shipping & receiving, and materials handling. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors through effective sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management strategies to optimize procurement costs. Utilize data analysis tools such as Tableau and SQL for supply chain analytics, demand planning, and root cause analysis of operational issues. Implement process improvements in warehouse management system (WMS) workflows and logistics procedures to enhance efficiency. Supervise freight forwarding activities including NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations and third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships. Ensure compliance with safety standards by operating mechanical equipment like forklifts and adhering to warehouse safety protocols. Support procurement activities by managing contracts, pricing negotiations, and category management initiatives. Conduct analysis of supply chain performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and service enhancements. Collaborate with production planning teams to align inventory levels with demand forecasts using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems. Requirements Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics coordination, or warehouse distribution roles. Strong data collection and analysis skills with proficiency in SQL, Tableau, ERP systems (such as SAP or AS400), and warehouse management systems (WMS). Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), freight forwarding, NVOCC operations, and demand planning processes. Familiarity with procurement practices including sourcing, vendor management, contracts, pricing strategies, and category management. Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment operation such as forklifts; certification preferred. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships while optimizing costs. Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements effectively. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and materials handling. Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration within supply chain teams and external partners. $24.61 - $29.64 per hour
