Logistics Technician III Miami, FL •
Clearance Level:
Top Secret Job Type Full-time Description ALEX - Alternative Experts is seeking a qualified Logistics Technician III to support a DoD client in Miami, Florida. This position provides secure accompaniment, handling, transportation, and accountability of materials. The Logistics Technician III performs hands-on logistics functions critical to the safe movement of materials.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Securely and safely accompany and transport material within the assigned metropolitan area. Perform occasional support and transport missions to other CONUS and OCONUS destinations as required. Provide airport and seaport security watch material during loading and offloading from aircraft and sea vessels. Open, secure, and maintain client material in compliance with: Client policies Client Manual Client Handbook Local office regulations Safely operate U.S. Government vehicles and material handling equipment (MHE), including: Delivery trucks (capacity per mission requirements) Cargo and passenger vans (NTE 15 passengers) Vehicles with manual or automatic transmissions (no training provided) Powered forklifts (ride-on and walk-behind; training provided) Non-powered lift devices (pallet jacks) Tie-down straps, ratchet straps, pallet netting, and pry bars Perform physical handling of materials, which may exceed 70 pounds, including: Lifting and placing pouches onto pallets or cargo containers Attaching shrink-wrap, tie-down materials, or securing devices Manual and MHE-assisted loading and unloading of pouches Removing pouches from pallets or containers after removing securing materials Moving pouches manually or with MHE within warehouse environments Utilize the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS) (training provided) to: Create, dispatch, reschedule, reroute, and inactivate shipments Generate client Certification and Receipt forms Track and locate items and materials Coordinate with the ILMS Help Desk to resolve system issues Complete all required accompaniment, shipping, and transportation documentation accurately and timely. Act as a liaison with: Airport and seaport security offices Airline personnel U.S. Customs and Border Protection to ensure timely clearance and movement of material. Maintain clean, secure, and organized work areas, vehicles, and material facilities. Assist with vehicle condition monitoring, fueling, maintenance coordination, and repairs through GSA as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned in support of courier operations. Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, courier services, warehousing, or material accountability Valid U.S. Driver's License Medical clearance confirming ability to perform physical duties Ability to pass a standard 5-panel drug test Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, overtime, and on-call schedules as required Ability to obtain and maintain airport, seaport, and facility access credentials Ability to lift, carry, and handle items weighing 70 pounds or more Ability to work in warehouse, airport, seaport, and outdoor environments Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate MHE for extended periods
