Manufacturing Planner Nutraceutical Manufacturing Facility Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing production schedules, material requirements, and manufacturing resources to ensure the timely production of nutraceutical products. This role serves as the liaison between Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service to maintain efficient workflow, inventory accuracy, and on-time order fulfillment within a cGMP-regulated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong planning, scheduling, inventory control, and ERP system experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably within nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, or medical device industries. Essential Responsibilities Production Planning & Scheduling Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. Coordinate manufacturing activities to meet customer demand and production targets. Analyze production capacity, labor availability, equipment utilization, and material availability. Adjust schedules to accommodate changes in customer orders, raw material shortages, or production delays. Monitor work orders and ensure production timelines are achieved. Material Planning Plan and monitor raw material, packaging component, and finished goods inventory levels. Ensure materials are available to support manufacturing schedules. Work closely with Purchasing to forecast inventory requirements. Monitor inventory levels and recommend replenishment activities. Assist in managing safety stock and lead times. ERP & Inventory Management Create and maintain production work orders within ERP systems. Monitor inventory transactions and material consumption. Ensure accurate BOM (Bill of Materials) and routing information. Review inventory reports and identify potential shortages or excess inventory. Conduct inventory analysis to improve inventory turns and reduce waste. Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, QA, Purchasing, and Customer Service teams. Participate in production meetings and planning reviews. Communicate schedule changes and manufacturing priorities. Support new product launches and production scale-ups. Compliance & Documentation Ensure planning activities comply with FDA and cGMP requirements. Maintain accurate production planning records and reports. Support internal and external audits. Assist in maintaining SOP compliance and documentation control. Continuous Improvement Analyze manufacturing performance metrics. Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements. Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Improve production efficiencies and on-time delivery performance. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred. Experience 3+ years of Production Planning, Manufacturing Planning, Supply Chain Planning, or Scheduling experience. Experience in Nutraceutical, Pharmaceutical, Food Manufacturing, Cosmetic Manufacturing, or Medical Device industries preferred. Experience working in FDA-regulated and cGMP environments highly desirable. Technical Skills ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, etc.) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Production Scheduling & Capacity Planning Inventory Management & Forecasting Supply Chain Analysis Data Reporting and KPI Tracking Preferred Certifications
