Job Description

Vedder Holsters is seeking a dependable, adaptable Production Manager to monitor, coordinate, and optimize production floor operations by leading staff, maintaining equipment, and implementing process improvements from daily work volumes to overall business effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Monitor volume of work for production each day to ensure timely completion Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and overall business effectiveness. Utilize organizational and communication boards to communicate with all production staff and other related departments Communicate any supply needs to other departments or purchasing Check in with sub departments on any equipment issues or needed tools to complete their jobs successfully. Check in with sub departments and verify numbers/volume that are due for the day. Coordinate with upper management on changes in procedure or updated goals for the business at large. Ex, Lead time updates, overtime verification, projections, and general staffing Meet with other departments regularly to address any production issues or answer any production questions. If hiring is needed, follow up with candidates and schedule interviews. Once selected, Coordinate with HR for proper start dates. Coordinate with purchasing to acquire necessary materials for production department including new hires. Prep and review payroll Weekly spot check production floor/sewing/shipping equipment Required Skills/Abilities Leadership Team work Negotiation skills Adaptability Dependable People and conflict management Organization and attention to detail Thoughtful and swift decision-making Report creation and execution Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and delegate when appropriate Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Critical thinking and problem solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Supervisory Responsibilities Coordinate with staff on general questions or concerns Work with new hire training schedule to continue improvement on advancing skill level of each craftsman. Work with necessary team members to complete construction projects around the shop, including basic movement of items, building work stations, and cleaning of workspaces. Review remake holsters and follow up with staff as necessary. Coordinate with staff to generate pace numbers as needed to determine needs for labor hours as they relate to demand. Regulate staffing needs on a daily basis as well as on a larger scale to ensure proper staffing is available and trained. Complete orientation for new hires as needed. Train new staff on safety procedures, production flow, product standards, and usage of provided equipment. Follow up with new and existing staff on any seen errors, questions, or concerns within their work and provide guidance to help improve speed and product quality. Check in with Sewing Department as needed to determine any issues with equipment, inventory, or general questions and concerns.
