Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Shipping Specialist to join our team. This unique role requires a balance of physical stamina to packaging and shipping equipment with sharp administrative skills needed for flawless tracking. In this role, you will be the critical link between the physical handling of equipment and our digital tracking systems. You will be responsible for lifting, packing, and moving customer equipment, while simultaneously ensuring that all tracking data are entered into our database with 100% accuracy.
Position Objectives:
Equipment Handling:
Safely lift, move, unbox, and repack equipment, tools, and crates daily, including the use of a forklift when needed.
High-Accuracy Data Entry:
Log completed and shipped equipment into our management system.
Precision Packaging:
Securely package delicate, newly calibrated instruments using packaging materials (foam, anti-static bubble wrap, crates) to ensure safe transit.
Logistics Coordination:
Process shipping labels, customs documentation, and Bills of Lading (BOL) using FedEx, UPS software.
Qualifications & Skills:
Physical Capabilities:
Must be able to consistently lift, push, pull, and carry objects up to 50 lbs. independently, and stand/walk for the majority of an 8-hour shift. •
Data Entry Skills:
Demonstrated ability to perform fast, accurate alphanumeric data entry. Proficiency with Excel or inventory database systems is strongly preferred. Attention to
Detail:
Ability to catch minor typos or mismatched digits in complex serial numbers.
Experience:
1year of experience in shipping, or warehouse logistics—ideally within a technical, manufacturing, or laboratory setting.
Software Proficiency:
Comfortable navigating shipping software (FedEx UPS) and standard Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook). •
Forklift Experience:
Prior forklift experience is preferred; certification is a plus.
Benefits:
Competitive hourly wage: $19-$21 (dependent on experience).
