Transportation Planner 4 CDM Smith - 3.8 Plantation, FL Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description CDM Smith currently has an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Planner to join our growing South Florida Transportation group. In this position, you will support multi-modal projects with a focus in transit-related work assignment to help ensure client goals are met. You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver planning projects and assist with marketing and business development activities. •This position can be based in any of our South Florida Offices - Plantation, Miami or Boca Raton•As an important team member, you will serve our clients and deliver on exciting opportunities by: Supporting project managers and leading tasks on transit-focused and other transportation planning projects included in CDM Smith's span of services (bus, rail, complete streets, and project development). Working with current staff to enhance our transportation and transit planning service capabilities in South Florida. Assisting in the development and execution of project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and helping monitor project performance. Coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to support project delivery. Contributing to technical analyses, reports, and planning deliverables for multimodal transportation projects. Assisting with marketing and business development efforts to help expand our client base and project opportunities with Florida transportation agencies. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community or Regional Planning or related discipline. 5 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Driver's License Requirements An appropriate and valid driver's license is required. Preferred Qualifications AICP or progress towards AICP Previous experience delivering transit, urban design, transportation, and multi-modal projects Previous experience assisting with the proposal process and presenting/meeting with transportation clients. #LI-MS1 #

Amount of Travel Required 10% Skills and Abilities Solid knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by all transportation modes, and understanding of current transportation trends/issues, including the relative costs and benefits. Solid knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process. Solid knowledge of the practical application of regional and community planning. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, models, and equipment to study and/or design of movement of people, goods and services. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
