The Shipping Administrator supports daily shipping, dispatch, and logistics operations by coordinating delivery information, processing documentation, and maintaining communication between drivers, operations teams, and customers. This role plays a critical part in ensuring deliveries are scheduled accurately, paperwork is completed efficiently, and shipping operations run smoothly. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
What you will do:
: Shipping & Dispatch Support Assist with daily routing and scheduling activities to support efficient deliveries and pickups Process and distribute delivery documentation, driver paperwork, and shipping records Coordinate late-add orders and communicate changes to drivers and operations teams Support dispatch and shipping teams in maintaining efficient workflow and on-time delivery performance Administrative Operations Monitor and respond to emails, phone calls, and operational inquiries in a timely and professional manner Maintain accurate records, reports, and shipping documentation Assist with data entry, order updates, and tracking information within company systems Support cross-training and administrative functions across the shipping and dispatch departments Communication & Customer Service Serve as a point of contact for drivers, internal teams, and customers regarding delivery status and scheduling updates Communicate shipment changes, delays, and delivery information clearly and professionally Support issue resolution and help ensure a positive customer experience Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work closely with dispatch, warehouse, delivery, and operations teams to support daily business needs Adapt to changing priorities and assist with problem-solving in a dynamic environment Support process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and service levels Perform additional duties as assigned What you will bring:: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to make sound decisions and adapt to changing priorities Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support multiple departments Experience in shipping, dispatch, logistics, transportation, or administrative support roles Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Experience with routing, scheduling, or dispatch systems Familiarity with ERP, transportation management, or industry-specific software platforms Experience in building materials, distribution, or manufacturing environments preferred Primarily office-based work environment within an operations or distribution facility Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday as needed Frequent interaction with drivers, warehouse personnel, customers, and internal teams May require occasional overtime, weekend work, or schedule flexibility based on business needs What you will earn:: Health Care Benefits Paid Time Off Benefits for union‑represented roles are determined by the applicable collective bargaining agreement and may differ from standard company benefits.
