As at Material Requirements Planning Manager at our Caterpillar Building Construction Products Division in Athens, GA you will plan and direct the material planning and material logistics functions to meet the facility plan objectives and satisfy customer needs. Specifically in this role you can expect to: Interfaces with Operations, Business Resources, Global Purchasing Suppliers, Logistics, Engineering and worldwide Cat facilities. Plans, initiates, and maintains a material procurement process that establishes and achieves the least total cost, best quality and timely delivery for facility material purchases from internal/external suppliers. Manages inventory and record accuracy through monitoring shortage / surplus exception, supplier follow ups, negative on-hands and daily delivery performance. Develops and directs internal/external material flow planning. Implements efficient supplier and interplant material supply plans. Meets production and parts requirements while optimizing inventory levels, lot sizing, lead times, packaging, and transportation costs. Provides direct support to manufacturing operations through managing incoming requirements and scheduling of production work orders. Implements and coordinates efficient supply-base management. Establishes and nurtures supplier relationships. Includes the identification and implementation of methods to assure suppliers are meeting Caterpillar's technological, communication, material delivery, financial management, and quality needs. Participates in supplier-quality improvement efforts. Provides material requirements expertise to Six Sigma projects and Lean Events as required. A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills and have: 3-5 years of progressive job-related experience in material planning / supply chain within a manufacturing environment A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role Knowledge and/or experience in material planning / control, purchasing, parts distribution, inventory control, manufacturing engineering, operations and transportation or logistics Strong knowledge of production scheduling and capacity management Ability to use and troubleshoot onsite MRP systems Top candidates will also bring: Bachelor's degree related to Supply Chain, Business or similar related degree APICS CPIM or CSCP National Certification highly desired Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills Relocation assistance is not available for this position ISE is not available for this position
Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
