Job Description:
The Production Planner responsibilities include developing, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules to support customer demand within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient material flow, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and driving on-time delivery performance by collaborating closely with production, logistics, procurement, and customer-facing teams. The Production Planner utilizes ERP/MRP systems to manage schedules, inventory, and forecasting data while proactively addressing supply chain challenges and supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Pay Range:
$60,000
  • $75,000 per year (DOE)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand, forecasts, and production capacity.
  • Adjust production plans to accommodate changes in customer requirements, material availability, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Monitor production performance and schedule adherence to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability and resolve shortages.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems, including SAP or similar platforms, to manage production planning, inventory, and order fulfillment activities.
  • Ensure accuracy of planning data, inventory records, forecasts, and system transactions.
  • Generate reports and analyze production, inventory, and delivery data to support planning decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, purchasing, and logistics teams to communicate schedules, priorities, and production changes.
  • Support on-time delivery performance by coordinating expedited orders and responding to changing customer requirements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including schedule adherence, inventory accuracy, and delivery performance.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or materials management experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems; SAP experience is highly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze data and generate reports.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, production scheduling, and material planning processes.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Just-In-Time (JIT) production principles preferred.
  • Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive suppliers and OEM customers is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
