Job Description

The Senior Supply Chain Specialist owns the end-to-end material flow, planning, and procurement strategies required to support high-volume manufacturing. This role balances production schedules with material availability-managing raw resin inventories, colorants, components, and logistics pipelines while aggressively driving cost-reductions and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities Material Planning & Procurement:
Manage inventory levels for primary raw materials (resins, regrind, masterbatch, inserts) to ensure uninterrupted production while maximizing inventory turns.
Production Scheduling Alignment:
Partner closely with Operations and Production teams to align material availability with machine capacity, mold changeovers, and high-volume runs.
Supplier Management:
Monitor, evaluate, and audit key supplier performance metrics (OTIF, quality, lead times); negotiate pricing, freight, and blanket purchase orders to mitigate market volatility.
Logistics & Warehousing Optimization:
Oversee inbound and outbound freight logistics; coordinate with warehouse teams to optimize storage capacity, material handling, and safety stock levels.
Data & ERP Management:
Utilize ERP/MRP systems to maintain accurate planning parameters, forecast material consumption, and generate material variance reports.
Required Qualifications & Skills Experience:
5+ years of progressive supply chain, purchasing, or material planning experience specifically within a plastics manufacturing or chemical processing environment.
