We are seeking an experienced NSLP (National School Lunch Program) Supervisor or Manager to lead our food service operations at our central kitchen in the Palama area. This role offers an opportunity to oversee food production, manage an established and dedicated team, and ensure compliance with all food safety and dietary standards. If you have experience in a school-food environment, possess leadership skills, and are passionate about fostering healthy eating habits for students, this is the perfect position for you! Your expertise will directly impact the well-being of students while supporting our mission to provide exceptional school meal programs. Duties Lead daily food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring all meals meet nutritional guidelines and quality standards per the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management to foster a motivated team environment Oversee food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation practices in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining proper storage of ingredients and equipment Coordinate meal service operations during shifts to ensure timely delivery of meals to students at contracted school sites Implement culinary techniques for diverse dietary needs, including catering special dietary accommodations Enforce food safety protocols and conduct regular inspections to uphold health standards and prevent contamination Foster excellent customer service by interacting positively with students and staff, addressing concerns promptly Maintain detailed records of food production, safety checks, and compliance documentation for audits and reviews Experience Proven management experience in food service management within the school food service food industry or hospitality sector Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation with a focus on nutritious school meals or similar environments Supervising experience in kitchen or restaurant management roles with strong leadership skills in team development Knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) protocols and sanitation practices Familiarity with dietary requirements including catering for special diets or allergy accommodations Experience with shift management in fast-paced settings like restaurants or large-scale food operations This role is ideal for energetic leaders eager to make a meaningful difference in students' lives through nutritious meal programs.
