Job Title:
Logistics Technician Job Description As a Logistics Technician, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe loading and unloading of trucks, railcars, and containers. You will ensure that all shipments are documented accurately and meet quality standards. This role requires the ability to work at elevated heights and in varying weather conditions. Responsibilities Load and unload trucks, railcars, and containers following company standards. Climb and work at elevation on semi-tractor trailers and railcars in various weather conditions. Document shipping and receiving logs, files, and records accurately for every shipment. Conduct initial laboratory analysis on inbound products to ensure quality standards are met. Verify freight bills and prepare and review packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the tank farm and trucking bay. Receive parts and supplies for the plant and office, and file inventory records properly. Enter customer data into the data management system as required. Facilitate customer sample requests and operate material handling equipment safely. Operate company vehicles safely, including box trucks. Wear proper PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes. Utilize safety harness and fall safety systems as required by company policy. Cross-train with production and assist with plant operations and maintenance when needed. Properly package products for shipping and prepare them in accordance with regulations and standards. Answer the phone professionally and communicate with customer and shipping company representatives via email. Provide documentation to customers as needed and receive after-hours calls to facilitate operations. Comply with all company food safety and occupational safety requirements. Maintain a clean, food-safe, and occupationally safe truck bay. Participate in company trainings and perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Experience in material handling, shipping, and receiving. Proficiency in document management and data entry. Experience loading and unloading trucks. Forklift operation and inspection skills. Strong customer service abilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Not afraid of heights. Ability to routinely lift 75 lbs. Valid driver's license. Work Environment Work hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in a climate-controlled environment. You will work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and be exposed to dust, heat, noise, and fumes. The dress code is casual, with a requirement for steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and additional PPE. Uniforms are provided later on. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boone, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
