Five Star Logistics
- Logistics Coordinator Five Star Logistics is a full-service 3PL transportation division providing LTL, Truckload, and Rail services to our customers for over 17 years. For additional information about us, please visit www.fivestarlogisticsinc.com We are seeking a full-time Logistics Coordinator for our Elgin, IL location working Monday
- Friday , generally 7 am
- 4 pm or 8 am
- 5 pm.
Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain and grow relationships between quality carriers and Five Star Logistics. Qualify and setup new carriers; carrier networking, negotiating, sourcing and relationship building. Coordinate, schedule, and maintain contact with carriers throughout the day to ensure delivery. Supply bids & quotes on potential business opportunities. Determine carrier availability and negotiate transportation rates. Ensure that contracted carriers and internal customers receive consistent and exceptional service; track and trace orders to communicate real-time information to customers. Assign carriers to shipments and manage the order from beginning to end. Supervising accounts daily to retain existing relationships.Skills Required:
Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Exceptional work ethic and ability to work as a team player Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Knowledge within the logistics and trucking industry Adaptability and time management- prioritizing workload.
Preferred Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and logistics experience. Prior experience in logistics preferred. 1- 3 years' experience in a similar role.
