About the Role We are seeking a Fleet Coordinator to support the daily operations of our truck and trailer fleet. This role focuses on coordinating maintenance, assisting drivers, and ensuring equipment stays compliant and road-ready. The ideal candidate holds a CDL, has a working knowledge of trucks and trailers, and is comfortable performing roadside checks and basic diagnostics with drivers as needed. Key Responsibilities Fleet Maintenance & Compliance Coordinate and track preventive maintenance schedules for trucks and trailers Assist in ensuring all equipment meets DOT and safety compliance standards Schedule inspections, minor repairs, and service appointments with internal or external vendors Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and compliance documentation Driver Support & Roadside Assistance Respond to driver calls regarding breakdowns or equipment issues Perform roadside evaluations and basic testing with drivers when necessary Help troubleshoot mechanical issues and coordinate timely repairs Communicate updates and solutions to drivers to minimize downtime Fleet Coordination Work with dispatch and operations to assign equipment based on availability and condition Monitor vehicle performance reports and flag any issues for maintenance follow-up Ensure trailers and tractors are properly matched and ready for dispatch Inventory & Vendor Coordination Track parts inventory and assist with ordering necessary supplies Coordinate with vendors and repair shops to ensure timely and cost-effective service Help maintain relationships with service providers Reporting & Documentation Keep organized logs of maintenance activity, service intervals, and repairs Assist in preparing basic reports on fleet condition and equipment usage Qualifications CDL (Class A preferred) - Required 2+ years of experience in trucking, fleet support, or a related role Basic mechanical knowledge of trucks and trailers strongly preferred Ability to perform roadside inspections and assist with troubleshooting Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards Strong organizational and multitasking skills Good communication skills to work effectively with drivers, dispatch, and vendors Experience with fleet or transportation management systems is a plus Vista Trans Holding is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
