Job Description
Job Summary The Production Planner is responsible for managing planning for Formulation, Filling and Packaging departments as well as managing the WIP and FG inventory until the material is released. The Production Planner coordinates with Purchasing, Quality and Production to ensure materials are available to meet the schedule and optimize resources as well as connect with quality teams to ensure products are released per schedule. This role will assist in projects for the site. This role also serves as a back-up for Scheduling. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, creating process orders in SAP, managing WIP and FG inventory, making schedule changes in SAP, and issuing the Production schedule. The Production Planner will interface with other departments, such as Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Production, Quality, Quality Control, Label Control, and Packaging Development to prioritize scheduling and manage material change projects. Strong organization and communication skills are required to track a dynamic production plan. The role is responsible for issuing revisions of schedule to meet market needs or work around internal constraints. Support weekend scheduling changes to production. Production Planners need to have strong problem-solving ability to analyze demand issues and optimize production planning. Supply Chain and Materials Requirement MRP experience required. This position directly impacts the manufacture and release of a finished product to support sales. The Production Planner is also responsible for analyzing and reporting Key Performance Indicator for the Materials Department i.e. Schedule adherence, Inventory and Product release timing, etc.
Salary Range:
$60,000-$65,000 Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities Manage Fill and/or Pack production schedule and issue changes in SAP and Excel 2). Manage WIP and FG inventory moving through the plant. Assist in communicating when WIP inventory will be released. Run and Analyze MRP generation report to support MPS. Review scheduling change impact and communicate to corresponding departments. Ability to work cross functionally. Create material transfer and pick slips to support weekly production schedule Create production for weekly production schedule as determined from Production Plan. Participate in weekly meetings with Materials and other departments to discuss any issues concerning production schedule before final approval/issuance. Manage lot number assignments for production and distribute to appropriate people listed on production schedule. Implement and communicate any changes or corrections to production schedule due to changes or issues. Support projects to improve efficiency in materials department (i.e. Manage Product transfers, Inventory management, etc. Assist in managing inventory and writing MRDRs as well as changing notifications. All employees are responsible for ensuring compliance with company documents, programs and activities related to the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, as per your roles and responsibilities Requirements Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering is preferred or equivalent field related experience and/or education. At least 3 years in a buyer or relevant role; preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry Must have customer service and negotiating skills, demonstrate effective communication techniques and demonstrate effective analytical skills. C.P.M. is preferred. Working knowledge of personal computers is critical and should include experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) and SAP or similar ERP systems Additional Information We offer an excellent salary and benefits package including medical, dental and vision coverage, as well as life insurance, disability, 401K with company contribution, and wellness program.
