Logistics Coordinator Thompson Pipe Group - Pressure Division About Thompson Pipe Group Thompson Pipe Group is a privately held, family-owned business and the largest and most diverse drainage, sanitary, pressure, and trenchless pipe provider in North America. Position Overview The Logistics Coordinator supports both dispatch operations and warehouse/receiving activities. This role coordinates outbound deliveries, manages inbound raw materials, and maintains accurate inventory and documentation for ship loose materials across Pressure projects. The position works closely with Dispatch, Sales, Plant Operations, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to ensure materials and shipments move efficiently while supporting customer delivery schedules. Key Responsibilities Dispatch & Logistics Coordination Communicate with customers, contractors, and sales teams regarding delivery schedules, freight details, pickup times, and special handling requirements. Prepare dispatch documents including Bills of Lading (BOL), freight bills, shipping paperwork, and detention reports. Maintain records of dispatched shipments, project delivery schedules, and customer updates. Maintain and organize the daily and weekly shipping schedule. Schedule drivers and coordinate freight deliveries or pickups. Serve as a point of contact between the yard, shipping office, warehouse, and sales team. Assist with administrative and clerical needs for the shipping and logistics department. Ensure all drivers follow safety requirements including proper PPE while on company premises. Maintain and update approved carrier lists. Warehouse & Receiving Operations Coordinate and document inbound raw material shipments arriving at the plant. Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and delivery documentation. Record and document received materials accurately within company systems or receiving logs. Communicate with purchasing, production, and inventory teams regarding material arrivals or discrepancies. Assist with warehouse organization to maintain efficient material flow and safe working conditions. Monitor and report damaged or incorrect material deliveries. Monitor warehouse stock levels to ensure adequate inventory is maintained to support production and shipping operations Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely ordering and delivery of required materials - For example: submitting purchase requisitions. Ship Loose Material Coordination Maintain organization and inventory of ship loose materials associated with Pressure pipe jobs. Track ship loose materials for each project to ensure items are available prior to job start. Coordinate with purchasing to ensure ship loose materials are ordered and received before project shipments begin. Organize ship loose materials by project to ensure accurate and timely loading with initial shipments. Maintain documentation and inventory records for ship loose materials. Communicate with dispatch and project stakeholders regarding missing or delayed materials. Education & Experience Bachelor s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience. Experience in logistics coordination, dispatching, warehouse operations, or receiving preferred. Experience working with shipping documentation such as BOLs, freight bills, and delivery records preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in a plant environment. Bilingual is a plus.
