This role requires hands-on experience with AP, AR, billing, and collections , along with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations to ensure accurate and timely financial data. The ideal candidate understands transportation workflows and can connect accounting activity to real-world operations such as dispatch, driver pay, and load-based billing. Key Responsibilities Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions Process and review customer billing and invoicing for accuracy and completeness Perform cash application , including ACH, wires, and check payments Handle collections efforts , including follow-up on past due accounts Research and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and short payments Assist with bank and account reconciliations Support month-end close , including journal entries and accruals Partner with internal teams (billing, dispatch, operations) to ensure accurate data flow Maintain proper documentation to support audit and internal controls Preferred Experience (Strongly Desired) Transportation, trucking, or logistics industry experience Experience with: NetSuite Salesforce Comdata Familiarity with driver pay, fuel cards, and load-based billing Experience in high-volume transactional environments Qualifications 3+ years of accounting experience (AP, AR, billing, or collections) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Effective communication and problem-solving skills Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred) Compensation & Schedule Competitive pay based on experience Monday-Friday schedule On-site role in Kansas City Why Join Us Fast-paced, growing organization with opportunity for advancement Direct exposure to operational and financial leadership Ability to make an immediate impact on processes and performance Apply Today If you have transportation accounting experience and enjoy working in a hands-on, operationally driven environment, we encourage you to apply.
