Buyer/Planner - Parsons, KS 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars Parsons, KS 67357 Air Distribution Technologies, Inc. 8 reviews Buyer / Planner Parsons, KS Job Summary Statement Ruskin Manufacturing, a subsidiary of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking a Buyer / Planner for our Parsons, Kansas manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and procuring materials, components, and MRO supplies to support manufacturing operations while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and strong supplier relationships. The Buyer / Planner plays a key role in ensuring material availability to meet production and customer delivery requirements and reports to the Plant Materials Manager.

What You'll Do:

Generate and manage supplier schedules to optimize production efficiency and transportation lead times. Monitor, track, and report supplier performance and compliance to delivery dates. Coordinate with Manufacturing, Production Scheduling, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure material availability aligned with production needs. Maintain replenishment signals and inventory parameters to ensure a smooth flow of materials to the manufacturing floor. Provide daily production support, including expediting materials, setting priorities, and resolving supply issues. Identify supply risks and support escalation activities with suppliers in accordance with ADTI standard procedures. Assist with supplier sourcing, onboarding, and ongoing supplier relationship management. Manage supplier consignment programs and blanket purchase agreements for commodity items. Support initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, days inventory on hand (DIOH), on-time delivery, and transportation execution. Operate within budget constraints and contribute to overall reductions in overhead and operating expenses. Maintain effective working relationships and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one year of related experience, or an associate degree with equivalent experience in planning, scheduling, purchasing, warehousing, or logistics. Knowledge of supply chain, planning, or procurement processes within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, including formulas and pivot tables. Working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred:

APICS CPIM

certification. Experience with inventory forecasting and development of supplier schedules. Experience reducing schedule variance and improving material availability. Experience developing, maintaining, and interpreting supplier scorecards. Prior experience with supplier sourcing and onboarding.

Work Environment:

This role is based onsite at the Ruskin Manufacturing facility in Parsons, Kansas. The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and moderate noise levels. The position may require regularly lifting 10-25 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Work is typically Monday through Friday, with some flexibility in hours as business needs require.
