Logistics Coordinator

Job Overview Silver Creek Transportation is seeking an experienced and highly organized Logistics Dispatcher to join our growing operations team. This position is ideal for someone with prior dispatch and transportation coordination experience who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing drivers, freight, customer communication, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to multitask under pressure, and a solid understanding of transportation logistics, DOT compliance, and fleet operations. What You'll Do Manage daily dispatch operations, including assigning loads, monitoring driver movement, and ensuring on-time deliveries. Coordinate and communicate with drivers regarding routes, schedules, delays, and customer requirements. Provide customers with accurate load status updates and proactively resolve service issues. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), GPS tracking, and dispatch software to monitor fleet activity in real time. Ensure driver compliance with DOT regulations, HOS requirements, and company safety policies. Coordinate various freight types including flatbed, dry van, walking floor, liquid tank, pneumatic, and hazmat shipments. Handle load planning, route optimization, and fleet utilization to maximize operational efficiency. Work with brokers, customers, and internal operations staff to secure and manage freight opportunities. Assist with rate negotiations, lane management, and load profitability analysis. Respond quickly and effectively to operational issues, breakdowns, scheduling conflicts, and delivery delays. What We're Looking For Previous dispatch or transportation logistics experience required. Strong knowledge of trucking operations, routing, and freight coordination. Experience with flatbed, dry van, tank, pneumatic, or specialized freight preferred. Familiarity with DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and transportation safety standards. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and transportation management software. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
