Detailed Job Description:
The Sentinel ICBM weapon system (formerly GBSD) is an enormous and complex "Mega-Project" modernizing the entire ICBM weapon system deployed across tens of thousands of square miles in five states. The new weapon system includes replacement of hundreds of aging Minuteman
III ICBM
facilities to secure and support a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile. The complete replacement also provides an entirely new command & control system as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead. This position will directly support the AFGSC/A10 and associated personnel by leading the vision, direction, and implementation of the transition from the Minuteman III to the Sentinel weapon system. The ideal candidate will be a motivational leader adept at balancing multiple projects across diverse teams to keep programs in rhythm and on track. Duties include validating multi-billion dollar weapon system program requirements, using concrete use-case scenarios to develop and analyze operational concepts, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership. This role is central to facilitating Operations Planning and establishing the foundational requirements for Sentinel deployment. The successful candidate will be a customer-focused, critical thinker with deep knowledge of the nuclear enterprise and its key stakeholders. This individual will translate complex system requirements into useable vignettes, bridge knowledge gaps between design teams, and enhance engineering efficiency. A key responsibility will be to research, design, and implement the organizational structure and talent management strategies for the new on-base operations centers, ensuring a seamless transition for missile crews and support staff. This requires hands-on experience in facility design, policy analysis, and program management within a DoD framework. Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status. This position is a full-time 5/40 role located at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, due to special-access, classified working environment and is not conducive to regular "telework" schedules. #ASFS Required Education, Experience, & Skills 10+ years' experience in missile wing operations Direct experience in Sentinel organizational structure Direct experience in talent management strategy for member transition to Sentinel Direct experience in Sentinel facility design input and selection process Knowledge of Nuclear Command, Control & Communications (NC3) Knowledge of Military Construction (MILCON) Experience with DoD requirements development Experience working in a collaborative, multi-discipline team environment Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance Master's degree Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Active TS security clearance Experience with Supply Chain Management Understanding of Earned Value Management Understanding of Training and Evaluation process development
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range:
$122400 - $208080 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
