Job Description

Laboratory Assistant Job Description Receive and unload incoming samples or consignments in accordance with DOT regulations. Verify receipt against Chain of Custody (COC) documentation, match samples to corresponding quotes, and document any discrepancies daily. Review COCs for accuracy and completeness; identify and resolve any inconsistencies. Log samples into the Laboratory Management System daily to assign lot numbers for tracking and distribute documentation to Project Managers. Label samples clearly using assigned lot numbers and deliver them to the appropriate laboratories for analysis. Prepare and assemble bottle kits for client use in sample collection, ensuring all procedures comply with EPA and DOT requirements. Coordinate shipment of samples to external laboratories when testing is not performed onsite, ensuring full compliance with DOT regulations. Dispose of spent samples, waste, and hazardous materials according to established safety and environmental procedures. Monitor and document freezer and cooler temperatures daily to ensure compliance with SOP guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment to support efficient daily operations. Promote and adhere to all safety policies, ensuring environmentally responsible practices at all times. Manage inventory by stocking supplies daily and assisting with inventory counts to maintain appropriate material levels. Schedule & Start Day shift schedule Candidates should be available to start as soon as possible Additional Skills & Qualifications Primary responsibility is to log, track, and verify all incoming and outgoing samples to ensure accurate documentation and chain of custody. Assist in preparing bottle kits for client delivery and ensure precise, timely sample login, labeling, and routing within the laboratory system. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $14.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
