L&B Transport is an established firm with 25+ years of operations in Texas, Alabama and Louisiana. The
IT ELD TECHNICIAN
assists with duties related to Electronic Onboard Recorder with safety operations including DOT compliance. Administrative Trucking with E-Log knowledge Position / Job Description Responsibility for many aspects of the Company's computer safety management software and hardware. Will assist/advise senior management on DOT/Safety issues.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provide resources and assistance to all transport employees as it relates to department ELD DOT compliance. Assist with document management for all DOT/Safety to ensure company and regulatory compliance. Assist and train drivers on ELD installation. Inventory ELD equipment. Assist in all aspects of monitoring, development, implementation, standardization (where appropriate), and management of the company's DOT trucking compliance programs. Assist in preparation of required Federal and State DOT Trucking Registrations, Licensing, Compliance Reports, etc. Checking FMCSA portal weekly for inspection and accidents. Updating and checking Safer site for violations and accidents, if needed submitting DataQ reviews for invalid inspection or accidents monthly.
Essential Duties:
Exercise a high level of discretion and independent judgment. Consult with management to ensure timely and efficient resolution of Safety software issues Highly motivated organized self-starter who is adept at handling multiple competing priorities, in a fast-paced, results driven, rapidly changing environment Assist other employees as needed Additional tasks as assigned by management After-hours Phone on-call two weeks per month- Monday-Sunday (great pay) Qualifications (Education and Experience): Required High School Diploma and 1+ years FMCSA related experience a plus Strong IT background/computer proficiency required Excellent customer service, verbal/written communication skills and sound judgment Reliable transportation to and from work Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Able to investigate, report and document Company DOT/Safety issues as they pertain to ELD compliance. Handling several tasks concurrently with attention to detail Ability to function well independently and within a team Ability to be flexible and self-motivated Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is a plus. Samsara ELD experience is a plus.
Additional Required:
This position requires work both indoors and outdoors. Ability to safely navigate work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc., during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) and while utilizing designated personal protective equipment (PPE). The candidate must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties.
