Job Title:
Logistics Clerk Job Description The Logistics Clerk supports day-to-day warehouse logistics by working closely with the shipping function to keep shipping and receiving activities organized and running smoothly. This role splits time between the warehouse floor and an air-conditioned shipping office, handling tasks such as printing labels, verifying incoming materials, and creating work orders while ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control in the ERP system. Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping and receiving logs for all inbound and outbound materials. Create and manage all documentation required for shipping, receiving, and production, including bills of lading (BOLs), labels, and work orders. Print and apply labels for shipments and inventory items, ensuring correct information and placement. Verify that all incoming materials are properly documented, correctly labeled, and accurately scaled upon receipt. Confirm that inventory levels are sufficient to fulfill upcoming shipments and communicate any shortages promptly. Enter and maintain accurate material and inventory data in the ERP system (CieTrade or similar), ensuring all movements and transactions are recorded. Ensure that all materials and processes meet established quality standards and report any discrepancies or nonconformances. Provide practical feedback from the warehouse floor on ways to improve operational efficiency, including material flow, tracking, and day-to-day logistics processes. Collaborate with warehouse, production, and shipping teams to coordinate material handling, dispatching, and transportation activities. Perform general administrative and data entry tasks related to logistics, inventory control, and shipping and receiving. Work safely in an industrial warehouse environment and follow all required safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines. Regularly move between multiple buildings on the same street to support logistics activities across the facility. Essential Skills Minimum 2 years of experience working in a warehouse environment. Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel, with strong Excel data entry skills. Experience using an ERP system (such as CieTrade, SAP, or similar) for inventory, shipping, or logistics functions. Ability to perform accurate data entry for shipping, receiving, and inventory records. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in labels, documentation, and inventory records. Comfort working both on the warehouse floor with the team and in an office environment. Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including creating BOLs, labels, and work orders. Basic understanding of logistics, inventory control, supply chain, and warehouse inventory practices. Ability to communicate effectively and provide administrative support to logistics and warehouse operations. Customer service skills to support internal and external stakeholders related to shipping and logistics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift experience and the ability to safely operate material handling equipment. Experience with CieTrade or other ERP systems used for logistics and inventory management. Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems is beneficial. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel for tracking and reporting. Experience in dispatch, transportation coordination, or administrative support in a logistics environment. Experience in material handling and labeling in an industrial or warehouse setting. Ability to identify and suggest process improvements related to material movement and tracking. Comfort walking between multiple buildings as part of daily responsibilities. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a true industrial warehouse environment where the shop floor and dock area are not temperature controlled. The logistics clerk spends a significant portion of time in a shipping office located on the warehouse floor, which is air conditioned and set up as an office workspace with a computer. The position requires regular walking between three nearby buildings on the same street, with the farthest about a five-minute walk. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All required PPE is provided, and the dress code aligns with an industrial warehouse setting, emphasizing safety and practicality. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fitchburg, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
