Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Maintenance Clerk to support our maintenance and fleet operations team. This position serves as a critical link between the shop floor and administrative functions, requiring both hands-on mechanical knowledge and strong computer skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in vehicle or equipment maintenance environments and be comfortable managing maintenance records, work orders, inventory, and repair documentation. Key Responsibilities Create, track, and maintain maintenance work orders and repair records. Coordinate repair schedules and communicate with technicians, drivers, vendors, and management. Enter and manage maintenance data within fleet management and accounting software systems. Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with company requirements. Process repair invoices, purchase orders, and parts requests. Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, repairs, and service histories. Track parts inventory and assist with ordering replacement components as needed. Generate reports related to maintenance costs, equipment downtime, and repair activities. Support technicians by identifying parts, reviewing repair documentation, and ensuring proper recordkeeping. Assist with warranty claims and vendor communications when applicable. Qualifications Previous experience in a mechanical, maintenance, fleet, trucking, or equipment repair environment required. Strong understanding of vehicle, trailer, or heavy equipment components and repair terminology. Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and maintenance management software. Ability to learn and navigate fleet maintenance systems and databases. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred. Preferred Experience Background as a mechanic, service writer, parts clerk, maintenance coordinator, or similar role. Experience with fleet maintenance software, ERP systems, or transportation management systems. Familiarity with DOT maintenance requirements and repair documentation. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
