Brokerage Logistics Coordinator

Job Overview Lancer Transportation is seeking an energetic, detail oriented person to fulfil the position of Logistics Broker / Carrier Relations. This role would entail daily communication with new and existing carriers, negotiating freight rates with carriers and customers, freight brokering and customer service. Candidate must thrive in a fast paced environment and be able to prioritize work load in an efficient manner. Strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills are needed. Responsibilities Negotiates freight rates with transportation carriers and quoting customers. Measures and monitors carrier's service levels to ensure minimum requirements are met Sourcing new carriers to build carrier base that will handle future shipments. Utilizes various transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning, and scheduling. Coordinate pick up and delivery appts with customers and carriers. Book available shipments directly with carriers or through load board. Ensures customer expectations are met or exceeded by completing accurate and timely scheduling/dispatching of trucks.
