Once the facility layout is optimized and inventory is accurately tracked, this role transitions into an active, commission-driven or performance-targeted sales position focused on marketing and selling overstock, discontinued materials, and surplus inventory directly to contractors, house flippers, and the public. Core Responsibilities Phase 1: Warehouse Transformation & Organization (Immediate Focus)

Inventory & Sort:

Categorize all existing flooring bundles, ceramic tiles, remodeling hardware, and custom cabinetry left over from previous jobs.

Space Optimization:

Redesign warehouse layouts to safely stack heavy materials, ensuring fast access for active installation crews.

Overstock Identification:

Separate current active stock from aged, surplus, or discontinued items to determine total liquidatable inventory.

Safety Overhaul:

Clear all aisles, ensure proper labeling of storage sections, and maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant environment. Phase 2: Overstock Liquidation & Sales (Ongoing Focus)

Market Surplus Goods:

Create listings and actively market overstock items via channels like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or local contractor networks.

Showroom Support:

Assist walk-in customers and DIYers looking for budget-friendly options by steering them toward clearance and overstock pallets.

Outreach:

Build relationships with local property managers, landlords, and house flippers in the Springfield area to move bulk quantities of surplus materials.

Process Transactions:

Calculate required square footage, generate pricing sheets, negotiate deals for volume buys, and process payments securely.

Administrative & Safety Duties Keep Digital Records:

Update stock logs immediately as overstock items sell so the active inventory stays accurate.

Safe Material Loading:

Operate heavy hand trucks, dollies, and pallet jacks to load sold overstock into customers' trucks or vans.

Key Qualifications & Skills Organizational Grit:

Strong drive to take a cluttered space and build an intuitive, clean system from scratch.

Entrepreneurial Sales Mindset:

Ability to spot a deal, write compelling ad copy for surplus items, and close sales with bargain-hunting buyers.

Basic Trade Math:

Fluency in calculating square footage, waste margins, and bulk discount percentages.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand for long periods and regularly lift heavy boxes of ceramic tile or hardwood flooring (up to 50 lbs).

Local Reliability:
