We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Planning Technician to join our Production Control team. This role supports job creation, production scheduling, inventory coordination, and cross-functional communication to ensure efficient production flow and on-time delivery. The Planning Technician works closely with production, purchasing, warehouse, and quality teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and has a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and principles. Create and release jobs based on ERP system demand and production requirements. Assist with daily ERP system transactions and clerical tasks. Develop and maintain production schedules to support on-time delivery. Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to ensure material availability. Manage and track manufacturing processes that involve outside vendor operations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date planning data within ERP/MRP systems. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning and production processes.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience:
Internship or prior experience in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain is a plus.
Key Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively across departments in a team environment. Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) preferred. Basic understanding of production planning and inventory management principles preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
