Job Description

At Trident Maritime Systems- Heavy Equipment Group, we don't just build systems-we build careers. We are looking for a Material Specialist (1st shift working 7am- 3:30pm Monday through Friday) to join our Norway, MI Team! The Material Specialist is responsible for executing all shipping and receiving operations independently while ensuring workplace safety. This role also provides training and daily guidance to team members, helping the department meet goals for safety, quality, schedule and cost while demonstrating the ability to meet quality routed hours.
MAJOR DUTIES
Operate forklifts, cranes, and rigging equipment safelyMove materials between internal and external operationsKit jobs per instructions and perform accurate inventory transactionsPackage outgoing shipments and ensure material preservation/identificationLoad and unload delivery trucks efficientlyGenerate and process paperwork for shipmentsCommunicating with internal teamsMentor and assist entry-level personnel in shipping/receivingReconcile and correct inventory counts in ERP systemsTroubleshoot issues and schedule shipments with carriersPerform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic understanding of supply chain processesExperience driving a forklift is a strong plusExperience with ERP systems is a plusProficiency with computers, Windows navigation, and Microsoft OfficeAbility to read blueprints, apply math, and use measuring devices is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs.
