Job Description

Production Planner Faribault, MN 55021 Up to $55,000 a year - Full-time Up to $55,000 a year -
Full-time SUMMARY:
Responsible for timely creation, release, and monitoring of jobs and materials to the shop floor to meet Sales department requirements by taking direction from the Master Scheduler and by working with Expeditors, Purchasing, and Shop Floor leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned. Release jobs and materials by reviewing dispatch lists, inventory levels, and purchased content to ensure on-time delivery  Maintain consistent communication with Sales department on status of all open orders  Respond to customer schedule changes and make adjustments to meet demands  Monitor job progress via ERP to ensure production plan is being met  Evaluate planning reports and exception messages to identify potential gating items and propose mitigation solutions  Ensure active Items (including ECN's and NPIs), BOMs, routers, and jobs are correct and properly implemented in ERP  Research inventory quantities and ensure errors are corrected via inventory control and/or shop floor leadership  Expedite when necessary and work with expeditors to ensure parts flow through work centers  Act as backup for master scheduler when requested
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:
 Associates degree and five years' experience in the manufacturing industry or a planning environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience  High level of proficiency working electronically, including but not limited to MRP/ERP software, Microsoft Excel, and MS Office Suite and digital file management  Familiarity with manufacturing environment, BOM development, and product lifecycle management  Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks at a moment's notice  Strong organizational and time management skills  Communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on a team approach to foster positive relationships  Willingness to work independently and in a group environment  Energetic, self-motivated, and reliable with a proactive focus to drive continuous improvement  Blueprint reading ability required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
