This full-time position (in office, Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm) will carry many different responsibilities from day-to-day operations and customer service to helping to support and execute business for core company accounts. If you are a self-motivated, detail-oriented person that is comfortable and effective on the phone this position may be a good fit. You must be able to operate as part of a small team yet the ability to make informed decisions quickly and independently without direct instruction is critical. We are looking for a hospitality minded, customer service driven individual with the ability to help execute in house business and successfully solve problems that arise throughout the day. Experience in transportation is preferred but is not required. We are looking for a career-oriented individual looking for a long-term home. A candidate with the right initiative and work ethic can expect to move beyond this initial position.
Responsibilities will include:
- maintaining contact with customers, carriers and shippers on a daily basis
- problem solving for a key customer and carriers as needs arise
- working with carriers to develop long term mutually beneficial relationships
- scheduling pickups and deliveries
- booking shipments with logistics companies via telephone, email and / or other methods
- trying to achieve the best possible margin through negotiations with carriers
- working with shippers and carriers to resolve issues on behalf of core client accounts
- various other office duties
Requirements:
- A hospitality focused and customer service-oriented individual is a must
- Must be able to handle several different duties simultaneously
- Can stay organized and work well under stress
- Phone experience and basic computer skills
- Ability to make intelligent decisions on the fly and under pressure
- Strong customers service and communication skills
Logistics Broker Experience:
1-2 years desired but not required- Two Year College Degree (Preferred not required) Benefits include paid vacation time, HSA, company insurance policy with contribution to premiums, company paid basic life insurance, access to dental and vision plans, participation in our company bonus plan after 6 months, 401K with up to 6% company match after 6 months and access to unlimited commission if sales efforts are of interest.
