ABOUT MALARK
Since 1994 Malark Companies has been providing true third-party logistics (3PL), specializing in on-time and on-budget domestic and international freight logistics, serving regulated and independent power producers, heavy manufacturing, light assembly, packaging and distribution enterprises. We handle all domestic and international supply chain functions, from managing and moving freight, inventory, warehousing, claims processing and reporting, to packing, crating, blanket wrapping, vendor compliance, small package shipping, tracking, and more. Summary The Logistics Specialist is responsible for handling the foundational level operations and day to day processes for Malark accounts. The primary job function is to procure cost effective transportation that meets our customers service needs, while completing any additional customer-specific standard operating procedures. In addition, this role handles orders, provides solutions, and communicates the status of their deliveries. A Logistics Specialist at Malark must also work with a high degree of service quality, be able to mitigate risk for our customers and company, be compliant with all regulations (Federal, Local, DOT, FMCSA), and complete daily tasks in accordance with department policy. Primary Job Responsibilities Take orders from customers, provide solutions, and communicate the status of their deliveries. Call multiple carriers in the marketplace to negotiate price and capacity, carrier pay, risk mitigation, and compliance. Follow up to ensure deliveries are proceeding according to plan. Expedite deliveries as necessary (including some weekend calls) to ensure customer satisfaction. Compile data for reporting to continually monitor performance and identify areas for improvement. Ensure carriers meet our contract and safety requirements (DOT/FMCSA). Hold carriers accountable for service and billing accuracy. Document each transaction accurately in our system for effective customer billing (invoicing). Resolve problems such as claims, delays, and mechanical issues/breakdowns. Ensure all loads are legal, compliant, and appropriately permitted (oversize, overweight, Hazardous Materials, etc.). Determine the best shipping methods, negotiate rates, and provide all necessary documentation. Troubleshoot and escalate issues as they arise. Ensure carrier compliance. Source carriers and negotiate pricing as needed. Ensure customer standard operating procedures are followed during the booking and dispatching process. Communicate operational issues to team members and managers as required. Identify available carrier capacity and communicate results to team members. Assist with operational and administrative load management requirements, including order management, pickup/delivery management, problem resolution, and system housekeeping as needed. Maintain communication with customers regarding shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any additional information they may need through to the completion of delivery. Electronically collect and maintain paperwork such as invoices, open orders, in-transit documents, archived documents, and delivered orders.Required Qualifications Organizational Skills :

Must have punctuality and good attendance. Ability to read and negotiate contracts. A passion for your work and taking initiative to drive growth. Proficient with MS office software and databases.
