Inbound Transportation Specialist Wholesale Produce Supply, LLC - 3.0 Minneapolis, MN Job Details $65,000 - $80,000 a year 12 hours ago Qualifications Vendor relationship building Computer literacy Full Job Description Wholesale Produce Supply LLC is seeking a dedicated Inbound Transportation Specialist to join our team on our day and mid shifts to help streamline our logistics operations! Day and mid shift available-Must be flexible to take calls on weekends if needed.
Essential Job Functions:
Oversee inbound freight operations, including planning, coordination, and execution of transportation activities to meet delivery targets. Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely transportation of goods, considering cost, service, and quality standards. Monitor and track inbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any transportation-related issues or delays. Analyze transportation data and metrics to identify opportunities for cost reduction, route optimization, and process improvement. Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers, ensuring compliance with company policies and expectations. Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and suppliers, fostering effective communication and collaboration. Continuously assess and improve transportation processes to enhance efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and mitigate risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, inventory, and warehouse teams, to optimize supply chain activities. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transportation activities, including carrier profiles, freight rates, and shipment documentation. Stay updated with relevant transportation regulations, industry trends, and best practices to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement. Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Proven working experience as an Inbound Transportation Specialist or similar role. Strong knowledge of inbound transportation operations, including carrier management, freight negotiation, and route optimization techniques. Excellent analytical skills to interpret transportation data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements. Proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software applications. Strong communication skills to interact with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams. Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities. Good understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements. Proactive attitude with a continuous improvement mindset.
Physical Requirements:
