Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Parts & Logistics Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks within our Pascagoula Warehouse, ensuring efficient operations in shipping, receiving, and inventory management. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and strong organizational skills to maintain efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with order picking and operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Responsibilities Receiving and storing:
Unloading deliveries, inspecting goods for damage, checking against purchase orders, labeling and storing items in their correct locations. Operate a forklift to retrieve and transport products within the warehouse.
Inventory management:
Sorting, organizing, and tracking inventory to ensure accuracy and maintaining records of incoming and outgoing material.
Order fulfillment:
Picking products from stock, labeling and packing them securely, and preparing them for shipment or local delivery.
Shipping:
Loading finished orders onto delivery vehicles with the necessary paperwork for transport.
Local Deliveries:
Driving deliveries to nearby customers.
Warehouse maintenance:
Keeping the workspace clean and organized, performing safety checks, and proper disposal of materials.
ERP/SAP:
Accurately receiving material in the ERP system and creating labels and documents for deliveries.
Documentation:
Maintaining records of order progress, shipping information, and any relevant documentation.
Phone and Email:
Communicating with vendors on the phone and via email to ensure material is on track for timely delivery. Keeping relevant parties informed about the status of orders, potential delays, and any issues that may arise.
Coordination:
Working with various departments (purchasing, production, shipping, etc.) to facilitate the smooth flow of materials and parts.
Expediting and Logistics:
Scheduling pickups and setting up paperwork (BOL, Shipping Labels, Material Labels, etc...) for drop shipments or sister warehouses. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards while performing all tasks. Perform heavy lifting as required, handling products weighing up to 50 pounds or more. Build wooden crates for transporting material.
Requirements Equipment operation:
Proficiency with equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery.
Physical ability:
Stamina and strength to lift and move heavy materials, 50 lbs. and above. Ability to lift heavy items consistently throughout the shift.
Organizational skills:
The ability to keep track of multiple tasks, maintain an organized workspace, and manage inventory accurately.
Attention to detail:
Crucial for accurately counting stock, checking for damaged goods, and ensuring orders are correct. Ability to follow instructions accurately.
Computer skills:
Critical use of inventory management skills and professional emailing.
Problem Solving:
Identifying and resolving issues related to both expediting and warehouse.
Teamwork and communication:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Collaborating with colleagues and reporting issues. Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred. Familiarity with order picking processes and equipment operation is a plus. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to warehouse operations is desirable. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
Nature and Scope:
The nature of work requires strong attention to detail and organization skills, stress management, and the ability to sustain multiple tasks simultaneously. Work review typically involves periodic review of performance goals and ability to work within a team environment. Work requires constant shifting of priorities, inventory availability, and dynamic customer expectations.
Work Environment:
Warehouse setting. May involve working in varying temperatures or conditions. Requirement to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for safety. Loud noise from machinery.
