Position Summary The Warehouse & Logistics Specialist is responsible for the accurate and compliant flow of incoming and outgoing materials within an AS9100-certified manufacturing environment. This role oversees receiving, inspection coordination, packaging, shipment preparation, documentation, and inventory support for raw material, work-in-process (WIP), finished goods (FG), tooling, and flight-critical hardware. This position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring decisive action, strong prioritization skills, and the mental capacity to manage highly variable workloads. The Warehouse & Logistics Specialist must work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, and Leadership teams while communicating proactively with urgency to ensure uninterrupted material flow and on-time delivery. The Warehouse & Logistics Specialist ensures all logistics and documentation meet aerospace quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance while maintaining strict traceability and record retention. Key Responsibilities Receiving & Incoming Material Management Receive incoming raw material, finished products, perishable tooling, hardware, and outsourced services. Verify packing slips, certifications, quantities, and part numbers against purchase orders and ERP records. Coordinate and perform receiving inspection processes per AS9100 procedures. Tag and identify materials to ensure full traceability. Segregate nonconforming or suspect material in accordance with quality procedures. Maintain accurate receiving documentation and inspection records. Communicate receiving discrepancies proactively with Quality, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams. Shipping & Outbound Logistics Generate packing lists and shipping documentation using ERP and shipping platforms. Prepare and package shipments, including flight-critical and aerospace hardware requiring specialized packaging standards. Ensure correct labeling, part tagging, serialization, and traceability. Schedule carriers and coordinate shipments with customers and internal teams. Manage domestic and international shipments in compliance with regulatory requirements. Verify accuracy of shipments prior to release. Make timely and decisive shipping decisions to meet production schedules and customer commitments. Packaging & Compliance Implement appropriate packaging methods for aerospace and precision components. Follow customer specifications and internal procedures for protective packaging. Maintain packaging material inventory and standards. Ensure preservation methods for perishable tooling and sensitive materials. Escalate packaging or compliance concerns immediately to appropriate stakeholders. Inventory & ERP Support Assist in managing WIP, finished goods, and raw material inventory. Perform transactions and updates within ERP systems accurately and in real time. Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives. Maintain accurate system records for shipping and receiving transactions. Prioritize workload dynamically based on changing production demands. Documentation & Certification Control Coordinate and maintain records for material certifications and outsource service provider certifications. Ensure documentation packages are complete and compliant prior to shipment. Maintain organized electronic and physical records per AS9100 retention requirements. Proactively communicate missing or incomplete documentation to Quality and Purchasing. Equipment Operation & Workplace Organization Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain organized shipping and receiving areas aligned with 5S principles. Ensure proper storage and handling of materials. Support continuous improvement and cross-departmental workflow initiatives. Required Qualifications Experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics within a manufacturing or aerospace environment. Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements and quality system expectations. Experience using ERP systems for inventory and shipping transactions. Proficiency with shipping software platforms (e.g., carrier management systems such as FedEx Manager). Expert forklift operation and material handling experience. Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation accuracy. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment requiring decisive action and rapid prioritization. Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and communicate proactively with urgency. Demonstrated ability to manage fluctuating workloads and multiple competing priorities. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing Technology, Business, or related field preferred. Familiarity with traceability requirements and controlled material handling. Experience packaging high-value or flight-critical components. Pay Rate:
