Respond with Compassionate Action We are seeking a Logistics Specialist, Transportation Operations to join our International Projects team in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina . Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritans Purse are to help people in Jesus name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the role of Logistics Specialist, Transportation Operations you will have the opportunity to: Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him. Act as the main point of contact and coordinates all air and ocean shipments for the Project department to the field offices (US/IHQ outbound). Request quotes for and coordinates inbound and outbound International and some domestic transportation moves for International Disaster Response and Emergency Medical Response shipments. Identify, label, and complete Haz Mat/ Dangerous Goods Declarations document and serves as the main point of contact to coordinate the transportation of hazardous material shipping. Provide international transportation support for the Information and Communications Technology group. Maintain and distributes as required the weekly shipment log and the tracking shipment log. All other duties as assigned. What are the qualifications? Serve with Excellence As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; and three (3) to five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires training and certification in hazardous material shipping. Knowledge of FDA, EPA, USCBP, regulations related to Import and Export Proficiency in MS-Excel and MS Access required Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
