Job Description

Position Description The Transportation Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for dispatching, scheduling, monitoring and resolution of problems for our owned asset fleet and its customers. This position will provide input on the strategic planning to forecast staffing and transportation resources to better serve our customers. Major Areas of Responsibility Responsible for professional, timely, and effective internal and external interaction via multiple methods of communication to include but not limited to phone, email, and our dispatching system Responsible for load monitoring, including resolving any issues that may affect the scheduled times for pickup or delivery, while proactively communicating issues with the Iron Junction team and affected customers Minimize dwell/detention time and improve asset utilization through effective communication and planning in order to improve operational efficiency and profitability Communicate daily with customers relating to scheduling to ensure trucks are available for shipping as soon as material is available Assist in the monitoring of performance and safety measures and participation in the coaching processes Manage the freight rate through upfront negotiations and verification of the final invoice Timely processing of all freight invoices to ensure prompt, accurate payments Balance the freight cost and time schedule to ensure that our customers are provided with accurate rate quotes within the required timeframe Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience 3 years of transportation and/or logistics experience Work Requirements Dependable and consistent attendance/punctuality Ability to effectively analyze data, identifying trends/themes, and developing efficient solutions and alternatives Ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization Ability to effectively work in a team environment while still completing independent work tasks/assignments Strong aptitude with technology including proficiency with basic computer programs and Microsoft Office Suite Omaha Track, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.
