Job Description

Responsible for the receipt, storage, accountability, and distribution of all supplies held in stock and/or requested by the medical center. Monitors and assures that an adequate level of supplies are maintained within Supply Chain Management and appropriate par level supply storage areas. Under limited supervision, resolves and fulfills all customer requests and inquiries. Work situations are routine and physically demanding, requiring organization, attention to detail, and customer service skills. Participates in continuous improvement activities. All responsibilities may not be assigned to each individual under this job description. Delivers supplies and equipment to requesting departments, obtaining a receipt signature for items delivered when required, and assisting the department with the unloading of the items. Works with buying team to ensure all par non-stock items for patient care arrive in a timely manner. Rotates and stores stock supplies within its par location. Monitors Distribution stock levels to assure that adequate levels are maintained and brings inventory discrepancies to the attention of the Supply Chain Supervisor. Inventories par level supply storage areas utilizing a handheld computer or manual inventory method. High school diploma or equivalent required. Good communication skills desired. Previous hospital work preferred. Computerized Supply Chain Management system experience preferred. The ability to prioritize and work with constant interruptions required. Basic experience in PC business applications including MS Word and Excel. Basic computer skills required. Must be able to lift and carry heavy loads up and down stairs and push/pull heavy carts in accordance with CMC/DH safety and ergonomic guidelines. Ability to constantly stand and walk . Mobile dexterity to include bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, climbing, and reaching. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, infrequent lifting of greater than 50 pounds. Skill in good oral, written, and interpersonal communication required. Ability to meet organization and departmental appearance standards on the job.
