Job Description

Material Planner Entry Level Role The primary purpose of this role is to develop an analytical approach to supply and demand planning in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This candidate will work within our order Production Planning team and will coordinate closely with the purchasing, manufacturing, assembly, and warehouse departments. This role will include forecasting of production schedules based on current and projected sales volume and frequent follow-up on part production and material procurement. The candidate must exhibit strong communication skills, an assertive attitude, and a technical background.

Production Control Manager Key Requirements:
  • Strong technical aptitude, either through a Degree in Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management or by a demonstrated work history in a technical field
  • Attention to detail and strong ability to diagnose and resolve problems
Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Utilize our ERP system to analyze material availability and expected material receipt dates
  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
  • Assist the Production Control Manager in communicating material requirements to the respective departments
  • Effectively coordinate with the Purchasing and Inventory departments to ensure material availability requirements are met
  • Effectively coordinate with the Engineering, Test, and Quality departments to ensure problem-free production of products
  • Prepare drawing packages and work instruction booklets for in-house and outside assembly
  • Print work order travelers and inventory pick sheets for active and upcoming work orders
  • Review work order priorities and generate scheduling schemes for each work center in the Shop and Assembly departments and communicate effectively with the respective supervisors to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Assist in processing rework jobs for parts rejected by the Quality Control department
  • Arrange an optimal part picking order for jobs with the warehouse to ensure the Shop and Assembly departments are not short on necessary work
  • Record, report, and remedy any technical issues that occur to ensure minimal down-time and production delay
  • Report any observed bottlenecks in the process to the Production Control Manager to ensure a timely resolution
  • Assist with the coordination of production workflow for Koehler manufactured and purchased products
  • Target specific jobs as assigned by the Production Control Manager to conduct an analysis on material and component constraints
  • Plan workflow to our outside services, such as painting, plating, and specialized machining
  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports to management, sales, and logistics as required
  • When advantageous, assist in the coordination of outside production for partial or complete products
  • Assist in the coordination of Raw Material inventory accuracy through random verification of machine shop jobs and through periodic cycle counting
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
