Full-Time Position Summary The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing production schedules to ensure efficient operations, on-time delivery, and inventory accuracy. This role works closely with manufacturing, procurement, inventory control, logistics, and customer service teams to balance production capacity with customer demand while minimizing downtime and material shortages Key Responsibilities Production Planning Enter Purchase Orders into ERP system upon receipt Build and maintain the production schedule based on Purchase Orders received Balance production across lines and shifts Plan around lead times, holidays, maintenance, and staffing Coordinate process, ingredient and packaging transitions Resource Planning Make sure ingredients and packaging are available when needed Coordinate labor needs with HR or supervisors Track machine capacity and downtime Help prioritize runs based on inventory and sales demand Inventory Coordination Monitor raw materials and finished goods Prevent stockouts and overproduction Work with purchasing on reorder timing Help reduce waste and obsolete inventory Cross-Department Communication Connect sales forecasts with production reality Communicate schedule changes to warehouse, QA, and operations Coordinate with marketing on launches/promotions Data & Reporting Track KPIs such as: schedule adherence line efficiency downtime labor utilization inventory accuracy Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 2-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing, or supply chain operations. Experience in a food manufacturing environment. Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and supply chain processes. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles is a plus. Work Environment Fast-paced production environment with frequent interaction with production and logistics teams. Physical presence on the warehouse floor, supervision, and process management.
