Logistics Specialist (Temporary)

The Logistics department at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking a reliable and motivated temporary Logistics Specialist to support our operations during our peak season. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, stays organized under pressure, and can adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment. The duration of this position is June 30th to December 31st 2026. Assist with daily shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks Load, unload, and organize incoming and outgoing materials Prepare orders for delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas Use computer systems to update inventory, track shipments, and complete documentation Drive company vehicle for local deliveries or pickups as needed Support the logistics team with additional tasks as assigned Must be at least 18 years old Flexible scheduling required, 20 to 30 hours a week Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle Strong computer skills, including basic data entry and familiarity with common software Ability to lift and move packages as required (typically up to 50 lbs.) Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours during peak season Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or delivery Comfort working in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills High School diploma required, college preferred How to
