POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and maintaining production schedules for manufacturing and packaging operations to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time. This position works closely with Operations, Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, and Quality to balance production capacity, material availability, and customer demand while supporting efficient manufacturing operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules for manufacturing and packaging operations based on customer demand, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Review open sales orders and generate production work orders to support on-time customer deliveries for manufacturing and packaging departments.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust plans due to changing priorities, material shortages, equipment availability, or customer requirements.
- Generate and maintain production work orders and associated manufacturing documentation.
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure raw materials and packaging components are available to support the production schedule.
- Monitor inventory levels and material availability to minimize production interruptions.
- Work closely with Sales and Customer Service to establish lead times, communicate production status, and provide product availability updates.
- Monitor schedule adherence and communicate production delays or scheduling conflicts to appropriate departments.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to support production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and work order processing.
- Maintain accurate planning and scheduling data within the ERP system.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve scheduling efficiency, inventory management, and production flow.
- Support inventory accuracy and assist with inventory-related activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in production planning, scheduling, inventory control, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related environment.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems required; JD Edwards experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. .Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing production demands.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This position is primarily performed in an office environment within a manufacturing facility. Regular interaction with manufacturing and warehouse personnel is required. The noise level is generally moderate but may vary while visiting production and warehouse areas.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
