Logistics & Procurement Assistant (Temp-to-Perm)
Location:
Poughkeepsie, NY (On-Site Role)
Employment Type:
Full-Time or Part-Time |
Temp-to-Perm Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Pay Rate $20-$25 per hour, based on experience
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to support procurement, inventory tracking, and vendor coordination in a fast-paced operations environment in Poughkeepsie, NY. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills and experience in supply chain, purchasing, or logistics support, who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Logistics Assistant Responsibilities:
Procurement & Vendor Coordination Create and issue purchase orders accurately and on time Communicate with vendors to confirm orders and track progress Monitor shipment timelines and proactively address delays Obtain and manage tracking information for incoming materials Inventory & Order Management Ensure materials are received, logged, and documented correctly Track open orders and maintain inventory accuracy Coordinate reorders or replacements for defective or missing items Work with warehouse teams to confirm receipt and availability Quality & Compliance Support Confirm orders meet quality requirements before use or shipment Address discrepancies and support resolution of quality concerns Ensure adherence to internal processes and vendor standards Coordination & Communication Collaborate with internal teams including warehouse, operations, and QC Provide shipment updates and tracking details to internal stakeholders Resolve order or vendor issues in a timely manner Administrative Support Maintain accurate records of purchasing, inventory, and communications Assist with invoices and coordinate with accounting for timely processing Support reporting, data entry, scheduling, and document management Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical)
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in logistics, purchasing, supply chain, or administrative support preferred Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools (Excel assessment required) Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and follow-up skills Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently Why Join This Opportunity?
