Job Description

Logistics SpecialistAbout the Role The Logistics Specialist role is a dynamic blend of sales, customer service, and operations. No two days are ever the same. In this position, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and shippers while helping solve freight and transportation challenges through communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building relationships, and can confidently manage multiple priorities at once. You will work closely with customers and internal carrier services teams to quote freight, secure business, coordinate shipments, and oversee the transportation process from start to finish. Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail are key to success in this role. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, shippers, and carriers Generate new qualified business opportunities while managing and growing existing accounts Coordinate freight shipments from pickup through delivery Quote shipments and negotiate pricing with customers and carriers Collaborate with internal carrier services and operations teams to find effective transportation solutions Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and proactive issue resolution Provide timely updates and communication to customers throughout the shipment lifecycle Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and service-related issues professionally and efficiently Maintain accurate records and shipment information within TMS and CRM systems Prioritize and manage multiple shipments, accounts, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Stay informed on market trends, pricing, and transportation industry updates Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, customer experience, and operational efficiency This is not an exhaustive list of job responsibilities and duties Qualifications & Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship-building abilities Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Professional negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, internet research, and Excel Comfortable communicating frequently by phone and email Preferred Experience 1-3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, dispatching, sales, or customer service Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or CRM platforms Knowledge of freight markets, carrier operations, or supply chain logistics preferred
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
