We are looking for a Production Planner to ensure the smooth flow of production operations, optimize scheduling, and help deliver customer orders on time. This role is critical in balancing customer demand, production capacity, materials, and resources to achieve operational excellence. About the Role As a Production Planner, you will develop and maintain production schedules, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and proactively address challenges that may impact production performance. Your efforts will directly contribute to on-time delivery, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Production Order Processing & Schedule Release :
- Process customer orders and create production jobs within the ERP system.
- Develop and release production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and resource availability.
- Prioritize production orders according to company scheduling protocols.
- Ensure all job travelers, work instructions, and production documentation are accurate and complete.
- Support Production Supervisors with the timely completion and closure of production jobs.
Production Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address material shortages, equipment downtime, labor constraints, or other disruptions.
- Balance workloads by recommending schedule pull-ins or push-outs to maximize efficiency.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure material availability for planned production.
- Allocate resources effectively to minimize bottlenecks and improve throughput.
On-Time Delivery Performance:
- Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Logistics, Fleet, and Customer Service teams to support customer delivery commitments.
- Communicate schedule changes, delays, and recovery plans to stakeholders.
- Ensure finished goods are available and transferred as required to support customer orders.
- Provide accurate and timely planning information to production teams.
Back Order & Recovery Management:
- Maintain accurate records of back orders, late orders, and rescheduled production.
- Assign revised production and delivery dates in collaboration with production teams.
- Communicate delivery updates to Customer Service and other stakeholders.
- Monitor recovery plans to ensure revised commitments are achieved.
- Escalate delivery risks and implement corrective scheduling actions when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate planning data within the ERP system.
- Ensure job orders, routings, priorities, and associated documentation are current and accurate.
- Prepare planning reports and performance metrics for management review.
- Monitor planning data integrity and recommend process improvements.
- Participate in root cause investigations related to production and customer feedback.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support corrective and preventive action initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement within planning and production processes.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing operations, or supply chain coordination.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling processes.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay:
$55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
