Overview:
Marubeni America Corporation is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sales & Logistic Coordinator to join our team in White Plains, NY. As a Sales & Logistic Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the logistics of our trade operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials from point of origin to final destination. Our Specialty Chemicals (SCHM) business unit imports, exports, and distributes specialty chemicals, industrial plastics, and packaging materials across a broad range of industries, including, but not limited to, Paper, Adhesives, Water Treatment, Electronics, Automotive, and Additives. We also participate in the sourcing, marketing, technical support, financing, and warehousing of chemicals.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service and Logistics Functions Coordinate and manage the logistics of our operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management Receive, process, and enter customer orders into internal control software (i.e., SAP/MOCA) Plan and schedule shipments, ensuring timely delivery of goods Assist customers with issues, answer questions, and resolve problems in a timely manner Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions Track and monitor shipments, providing updates to relevant stakeholders Process relevant and necessary paperwork for import/export of countries (BL, Commercial Invoice, etc.) Process payments, prepare receipts, and initiate billing procedures Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and locations Analyze data and generate reports Identify areas for improvement in logistics processes and implement solutions Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards Sales Support Functions Manage sales orders - confirm price, determine product availability, and lead time. Manage purchase orders - prepare purchase orders, place orders promptly and liaise with vendors to ensure on-time shipping and delivery, coordinate with forwarder, steamship lines, customs broker, and other logistic service providers. Monitor credit limits on each sale. Liaise between sales staff and customers. Skills Deep knowledge of BL's, warehouse management systems, and import/export/offshore business Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills Strong SAP and Excel knowledge; especially Pivot Tables Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
