International Logistics Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all domestic and international shipments for Ajax Tocco Magnethermic. This role ensures on-time delivery of customer equipment, compliance with all shipping regulations, and efficient coordination between production, purchasing, and external carriers. This position plays a critical role in supporting project timelines, minimizing delays, and maintaining strong communication across departments and with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping & Logistics Coordination Coordinate domestic and international shipments (LTL, FTL, air freight, ocean freight, breakbulk) Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers, freight forwarders, and brokers Prepare and verify shipment documentation: Bills of Lading (BOL) Packing lists Commercial invoices Certificates of origin Ensure all shipments are aligned with project schedules and required ship dates International Shipping & Compliance Manage export documentation and compliance requirements: HTS classification AES filings Incoterms Customs documentation Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure smooth international shipments Ensure compliance with: U.S. export regulations Customer-specific requirements (CE, EMC, etc. when applicable) Track international shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues Internal Coordination Work closely with: Production (status of builds and readiness to ship) Purchasing (incoming materials and vendor shipments) Project Managers (customer deadlines and priorities) Participate in production and shipment planning meetings Maintain clear communication on shipment status and risks Tracking & Documentation Track all outgoing and incoming shipments Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation Provide real-time updates on shipment status to internal teams Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities for cost savings Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Identify and resolve shipping issues, delays, or damages Drive improvements in: Packaging processes Shipping workflows Carrier performance Support implementation of standardized logistics processes

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred 3+ years of logistics/shipping experience in a manufacturing or OEM environment Experience with international shipping required Technical Skills Strong knowledge of: Domestic freight (LTL/FTL) International freight (air/ocean) Export documentation and compliance Experience with ERP systems and shipping software Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office tools Key Competencies Strong organizational and planning skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously Strong communication across departments Problem-solving mindset with urgency and accountability Performance Expectations (KPIs) On-time shipment performance Accuracy of shipping documentation (zero errors) Reduction in freight costs and expedited shipments Minimal shipment delays due to internal coordination issues Compliance with all export/import regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in OEM manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail and understanding of compliance risk. Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment:

Collaboration - Daily interaction with project managers, engineers, logistics, and quality teams is expected. Pace & Expectations - The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven. Multiple projects run at the same time, so the ability to prioritize and adapt is critical. Overtime or adjusted schedules may be required during peak demand or to meet shipment deadlines. Physical Requirements - While most work involves leadership and coordination, occasional lifting (up to 75+ lbs), standing for extended periods, and moving between workstations may be required to assist and guide team members.
